The third Space
Approach

Supporting relational ways of being in the lives of young people and the adults who serve them.

We partner with schools and youth-serving organizations to build adult capacity, facilitate student SEL experiences, and support the integration of relational practice across classrooms and teams.

Care That Strengthens Connection

A Relational Starting Point

The Third Space is grounded in the belief that relationship is central to how people grow, learn, and care for one another. When stress, conflict, or complexity arise, the ability to pause and respond with intention—rather than judgment or control—becomes essential.

Where This Shows Up

In the lives of young people, this space shows up constantly: when big feelings arise, when expectations feel overwhelming, when conflict or misunderstanding enters the room. It also shows up for the adults who care for them—educators, caregivers, and youth-serving professionals—who are often navigating their own stress while trying to remain present and supportive.

What We’re Moving Away From

Many systems push people toward extremes: punishment or permissiveness, emotional suppression or emotional reactivity, compliance or disconnection. These approaches often make sense in the moment, but over time they erode trust, agency, and relationship.

The Third Space

The Third Space offers another way. It supports people in staying connected—especially when things feel hard—by building the capacity to pause, regulate, and respond with intention rather than judgment or control.
